Russells in the Leaves is a delightful book, appropriate for any age from one to one hundred. Those who love dogs - particularly Jack Russell terriers - will chuckle and smile at the antics of Jack, Jessie, Spunky and Lizzie.

Jack and Jessie are the mom and dad dogs and Lizzie and Spunky their offspring. This family of Jack Russell terriers lives in a comfortable home in the woods near the Rappahannock River in Virginia. They love to run and play in the woods and swim in the river whenever their master will take them for a romp. Their story is told from Lizzie's point of view. She keeps a humorous running commentary about their activities and the photographs that memorialize fun, frolic, and naps.

This is a sturdy, high quality book with large print and colorful photographs. The fun loving, high energy Jack Russell terrier personality is captured perfectly by the author in Lizzie's voice. Russells in the Leaves would make a wonderful gift, suitable for reading aloud to a child or for older readers to enjoy.

Delightful Read … Recommended … 5 stars

The Review
Jack Russell Terriers Lizzie and Spunkie, along with their dad Jack and mom Jessie are the stars of this 54 page book told in words and pictures. The little dogs are full of vim, vinegar and fun.

The photographs taken by the writer add another dimension to the work. Naughtiness, animation and just plain jollity is evident on the pages of ‘Russells in the Leaves’ especially in the picture series showing Lizzie, her brother and dad arguing over the throwing stick.

Nice book for when you don’t have a lot of time, or when you just want a warm fuzzy moment. Enjoyed the read, happy to recommend.
